Nudie Foodies is HERE!

Hello hello! I’ve mentioned it in the past but the time is now here: The Nudie Foodies: Food Bloggers Peel for Japan cookbook is DONE and available for purchase. 100% of all profits of the cookbook goes directly to AmeriCares, a foundation that has a specific campaign earmarked to help the people of Japan who were victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

For those not in the know, The Nudie Foodies are group of food bloggers who banned together to help the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, all 18 of us have donated a recipe to the book, as well as tastefully photographed ourselves in various stages of undress, featuring our creations.

As for my own final image that made it into the book, let’s just say it left my skin milky smooth and supple for days afterwards. And with gay pride coming up this weekend I feel like I should make some sort of pun about being the fruitiest thing in the bathtub full of fruit, but I’m going to refrain. Below is an outtake from the photoshoot that my partner AJ took. If you want to see the actual photo of me enjoying a slice of my Slow Roasted Strawberry Blood Orange Spiced Icebox Pie with Almond Scented Crust and White Chocolate Whipped Cream, you’ll have to just buy the book.

In the meanwhile, pop on over to this short little interview with our fearless leader Linda of Salty Seattle on the Today Show website, be sure to follow Nudie Foodies on Twitter and/or like Nudie Foodies on Facebook and check out the sneak peak preview of the book itself. Oh and buy the book. It’s for a good cause!

Our copies arrived today and the first photo my husband commented on (other than mine) was how much he loved yours! He’s an amateur photog and admired the “composition” – or so he says 😉

"Mr. Lin, a graphic designer in San Francisco who writes the food blog Eat the Love, takes risks in nearly every one of the 150 elaborate recipes in his book. He doesn’t just paint the lily; he bejewels and shellacs it, too."
–MELISSA CLARK for the New York Times

“My goodness, this cookbook! It’s filled to the brim with recipes for the most splendidly beautiful cakes, cookies, breads, and tarts I think I’ve ever seen. My eyes kept getting wider and wider as I turned every page—both the flavor combinations and the photos are out of this world. Irvin Lin has most definitely outdone himself. This book is a triumph!”
—REE DRUMMOND, New York Times best-selling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks

“Irvin Lin gives home-baked treats a twist, ramping them up with a range of contemporary flavors that are sure to surprise and delight. From beer-battered brownies to smoky butterscotch taking a classic cake to the next level, I can’t wait to mix, stir, and bake my way through Marbled, Swirled, and Layered!”
—DAVID LEBOVITZ, author of My Paris Kitchen
