How to get room temperature butter fast! A step-by-step tutorial.
A couple of years ago, I shared a tip on how to get butter to room temperature. But now I have an even faster way to do it! Obviously most baking recipes call for room temp butter, but most folks don’t remember to take the butter out in time to warm up. My previous tip said to just cut the butter into cubes and the butter will usually warm up in about 15 minutes or so. But now I have a new favorite way to get room temperature butter quickly!
Just cut the butter in quarters, or two tablespoon pieces. Then place the cold butter piece between an old butter wrapper, parchment paper or wax paper. Fold over the paper
Using the palm of your hand, smash the butter down until it is as flat as you can get it. Repeat with the remaining butter that you need to warm up. The combination of the heat from your hand, as well as the thinness of the butter will warm the butter to room temp!
So there you have it. Almost instant room temperature butter! Now there’s no excuse not to get baking! So what are you waiting for?
