For those who don’t follow me on Twitter, you may not know it, but I’ve been in Hawaii for the past few weeks. Since my partner AJ happens to be a college professor and I’ve been freelancing ever since I quit my job, we have a flexible summer and we decided to rent a condo over in Maui for the month of July. This, of course, was made possible by my parents deciding they wanted to come out and visit San Francisco (as they are thinking of retiring there, they love it so much) and sublet our apartment for the duration of our trip away. I was a bit stressed out about getting our apartment in order for them, and also making sure they had everything they needed for their visit. But my mom and dad came out to our apartment and called me within the first week and told me they loved my place (exclaiming how surprised and impressed she was at my organization skills). Then my mom sheepishly told me that she had eaten a lot of the peanut butter I had in our fridge and she hoped that was okay. I laughed and told her of COURSE, but then she wanted to know all about the peanut butter that I had and why I had so many jars of it. I told her that I was chosen by the company Peanut Butter & Co. to develop recipes for their All Star Recipe Blog Series. She seemed less impressed by my developing recipes for them and more impressed by the peanut butter itself. It’s no wonder though, as the peanut butter is pretty awesome.
Back when Peanut Butter & Co. contacted me about developing five recipes for them as part of their All Star Recipe Blog series, I was super excited about being grouped in with other cool bloggers like Cakespy, Honey and Jam, and No Recipes. All bloggers that I totally respect and who totally rock. But then I had to come up with recipes for the company and that’s when I went into a slight panic. What if they didn’t like my recipes? What if they think my recipe ideas are crap? So I took a look at their various different flavored peanut butters, of which they have 10 different types, and brainstormed up 15 different ideas. Shot them over via email, and just crossed my finger that they liked what I sent them.
They did. In fact, they came back and told me that even though they initially wanted me to make five recipes, they liked my ideas so much that they asked if I could do 12 of them! Whoo hoo! 12 awesome recipes for an awesome company. How could I refuse? And so I’ve been developing them ever since. The first one, on their site today, is a Honey Lemon Bar with Peanut Butter Crust. It’s pretty addictive, and uses Peanut Butter & Co.’s Bee’s Knees Peanut Butter with honey mixed in.
And because I have a few jars leftover after the recipe developing, I’m going to give them away to a lucky reader! Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite peanut butter flavored item is. Perhaps it’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, peanut butter cookie, a Reese’s peanut butter cup or peanut butter on a celery stick with raisins on top. Or maybe it’s my recently posted Peanut Butter S’Mores with Strawberry Marshmallows and Bacon Peanut Brittle (which I used Peanut Butter & Co’s Smooth Operator). Whatever it is, leave me a comment and I’ll randomly choose a winner, to receive a jar of Peanut Butter & Co’s Smooth Operator (smooth peanut butter), Crunch Time (crunchy peanut butter), The Bee’s Knees (peanut butter with honey), and White Chocolate Wonderful (peanut butter with white chocolate). Four different jars of peanut butter for you! Be sure to leave your email address in the email address box so I can contact you if you win. You have until August 1st to enter. Hopefully my mom won’t have eaten all the jars of peanut butter by then.
[This is a sponsored post. I did receive compensation from Peanut Butter & Co. to develop recipes for their product, as well as samples of their peanut butter to create the recipes (and offer to you readers). i love peanut butter *any*thing! i love it with bananas on a sandwich, and in african and thai inspired dishes. it sounds like a cool company – i can’t believe they have peanut butter and white chocolate.

I ♥ thick slices of toasted cinnamon swirl bread slathered in crunchy peanut butter and rice pudding!
Cindy Waffles says
I have two favs! Grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches rock! Also, love using chunky peanut butter to make a dipping sauce for goi cuon (Vietnamese summer rolls).
Alyssa says
My latest favorite pb-flavored treat are Fluffernutter cookies. They’re dangerously easy to make! I use one cup PB&Co Bee’s Knees, one cup marshmallow fluff, and one egg. Mix and bake at 350 for like 12 minutes and DEVOUR. YUMMMM!!
Mary W says
We love CrunchTime peanut butter. We have a bakery nearby that bakes fresh bagels every day. A toasted pumpernickel bagel spread with Crunch Time peanut butter is heavenly. The peanut butter melts and when you bite into the warm bagel you get a good crunch from the peanuts and toasted bagel. Just divine!!
Vivian says
I still love peanut butter and nutella crepes! Or peanut butter and banana crepes. Or peanut butter and honey crepes .. (sense a trend here?)
Carrie Melissa says
I believe peanut butter cream pie was created to transport jaded adults back into a childlike state of innocence. It does this almost (and sometimes moreso) effectively than YouTube videos of kittens rolling around like balls of fur. I bet peanut butter cream pie would also be delicious with some white chocolate-infused PB.
Congrats on getting to create twelve recipes! That’s so exciting.
Stellastarlite says
When my kids were little we had an electric grilled cheese maker and I made grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread. Yummy!!

Your s’mores recipes is the peanut butter recipe I’ve been dreaming of.

I love eating PBCo’s Cinnamon Raisin PB right out of the jar or with pretzel sticks! I also love PB granola mmmm….
Brianne Weiss says
my favorite peanut butter item is the classic pb & j, but i have discovered the jars that have both peanut butter and jelly in them, and it is such a delicious invention because i can get my two favs together, sans the bread! i would LOVE it if peanut butter and co could make these with their peanut butter and jams because they have the best peanut butter i have ever eaten, and i have tried LOTS of peanut butters! peanut butter is easily my favorite food and i would be one happy girl to win this peanut butter!! 😀
Ling-Yi Kung says
My favorite PB item is peanut butter itself!! ^^; I eat it on a spoon all the time or scoop it out and eat it with celery, it’s so delicious. ^^
Enjoy the rest of the month in Hawai’i!

Is Peanut Butter a valid response? By the spoonful?

I’d have to say it is a tie between these super rich and delicious Chocolate & Peanut Butter Squares that I make for my Christmas goodie tins and a Rory burger (bacon and PB!) from Corvette’s Diner. Love me some PB! The recipe for the Squares: http://fourtheloveofbyallison.blogspot.com/2010/12/peanut-butter.html

Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are a part of our family lore. I am even making chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting for the wedding of my son.
Crystal says
Tough one! My mom makes (and taught me to make) awesome peanut pralines. And I’m a huge fan of the classic peanut butter + chocolate. I just had a dessert at Alinea that had that combo – to die for.

Steel cut oats with a teaspoon of Crunch Time peanut butter stirred in and topped with a dash of cinnamon, a handful of walnuts/almonds, and blueberries. Delicious!
Chris at Hye Thyme Cafe says
I don’t think it’s possible for me to pick a “favorite” item using peanut butter. I love it with pretty much everything! I will say that toward the top of my list are using it in a spicy peanut sauce for a Thai Chicken Salad, and smearing homemade marshmallows with PB then dunking them in chocolate! 🙂
Natalie says
Honestly, I love peanut butter all by its lonesome little self… I could eat a whole jar. But, my favorite thing to make with peanut butter in it is peanut butter cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and carmelized bananas on top… or even with just chocolate chips on top.
Does this mean you will be coming out with a NEW Peanut Butter and Co Cookbook? (I have the one on their website already).
Irvin says
A new Peanut Butter & Co cookbook? Well that would be pretty cool. I don’t know of any plans to put out another one, but if they do, I’ll let you know. Perhaps you should suggest I write one for them. I’d be up for that!
Julia says
I love peanut butter cookies! I can only imagine how good they would taste if I used white chocolate wonderful pb instead! Also, those honey bars with pb crust look amazing.

I actually have two peanut butter items that I can’t pass up. During the winter months, it’s peanut butter logs and during the warm months it’s peanut butter milkshakes.
Arlene T. says
My favorite peanut butter flavored item is peanut butter froyo. I love froyo & peanut butter makes it really yummy. Cold, creamy, & smooth!

Awesome post. I would have done the same thing as your mom. I love peanut butter. PB sandwiches, pb cups (especially homemade ones), pb cookies, pb ice cream, etc. But my very favorite way may be right out of the jar.
April says
Fab post. My favorite peanut butter treat is crunchy peanut butter fudge brownies.
Ralph Sciutti says
I have a thing for Grace Bakery toasted Fred Bread with melted Moonstruck Chili Dark Chocolate and Trader Joes organic crunchy peanut butter . This rocks, but then this combo rocks on almost any hard french baguette or loaf. I have yet to upgrade my peanut butter so I would love to sample Peanut Butter and Companies offerings.

I have a saved recipe for some Nutella peanut butter bars that I’ve been DYING to try. But a current fave recipe is a PB sandwich with homemade jam!
Christa M. says
When I was younger, sis and I would mix peanut butter, honey, chocolate syrup and rolled oats. We’d spread it on toast, crackers, celery, carrots, a spoon…whatever vehicle was closest. It is still a go-to treat when I need a rich & gooey fix. Though, I have to admit, I still have a soft spot for the peanut butter and honey on plain white sandwich bread that was a school cafeteria staple on spaghetti day.
elizabeyta says
peanut butter and jam sandwiches with homemade jam and bread or almost anything peanut butter AND chocolate but most especially smoothies or ice cream. The peanut butter chocolate ice cream I have come up with is to die for. Now I think I need to find myself some peanut butter 😉
Lawyer Loves Lunch says
I have been eating peanut butter sandwiches like nobody’s business. I’m not a huge fan of pb&j but I love me some peanut butter and honey. Maybe not the most exciting but the sandwiches are portable and healthy (I like to think) and when you’re three times your normal size, you gotta go with what works 🙂
Vijitha Shyam says
Hello Irvin
How have you been?
Well I love peanut butter. Who doesn’t?
I love this simple dessert made with chocolate syrup, peanut butter and banana. I wrap them together in a foil and grill it for 5-10 minutes. This is our favorite July 4th dessert. Hope I will win a bottle.
I am having a summer drink giveaway in my blog. Do check it out when you get a chance.
MWade says
I like my peanut butter with a tablespoon – other ingredients just take away from the peanut butter. If I must have a side dish, bananas would be first followed by chocolate (or both).
soopling says
Pb with sriracha and honey, on toast. Or, swap the sriracha for miso paste!
Julien says
You can never go wrong with a peanut butter and banana sandwich! Well, you could go even better if you put honey in there too.

God I looooooooooove peanut butter, I don´t buy it as often as I would like since it´s not as easy to find good quality peanut butter in my hometown… but when I was living in the US it was one of my favourite sandwich fillings. Yummy.
Mikey.

Kazia Jankowski says
I love anything with peanut butter, but those bars look especially fantastic! Hope you’re enjoying Hawaii 🙂
Ryan Franson says
Those bars look great! Looks like I have a weekend baking project.
My favorite peanut butter item is from my grade school years. At school, once a week, there was a dessert called “Peanut Butter Cream.” It was a no-bake bar with a peanut butter base (I’m guessing powdered sugar and peanut butter) and chocolate ganache on top. To my ten-year-old palate, they were the greatest thing to ever be made ever. I think they stick with me because I’ve never quite been able to recreate the recipe when nostalgia strikes. Alas. One day!
Chrissy says
I love peanut butter straight out of the jar- sometimes with a few chocolate chips shoved in there… I also make a pretty wicked good fudgy chocolate peanutbutter cup brownie.
Kristy says
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE peanut butter. Besides eating it right out of the jar, I love a good ol’ peanut butter and jelly panini on whole wheat bread, sprinkled with cinnamon. No crust of course!
Cee says
I love peanut butter in my oatmeal in the mornings, but I also love it straight up in a pb&j sandwich!
Susan says
A large, moist peanut butter cookie is my favorite vessel for peanut butter. Partnered with a large glass of ice water, I’m in peanut butter heaven.
Meagan says
I like PB cookies!
Allison says
Oh my… are those honey lemon bars with peanut butter crust the ones you had at the Pie and Pie party? ♥ I know I’m too late to enter the contest, but you should know that those might just be my new favorite peanut butter thing. (Never mind that I’m kind of a peanut butter slut… I LOVE peanut butter-chocolate ice cream, and my favorite cookies are peanut butter cookies, and Reese’s are my weakness when it comes to bad candy, and… and… ~_^)
Tasha says
These lemon bars sounds absolutely amazing. I think I may try them. Thanks for the idea
Kelly says
Straight up peanut butter. Why mess with a good thing!
Janna says
I tried the recipe and it was really good. What else can I add to the recipe? Thanks for the recipe.
