Peanut Butter & Co. and the All Star Recipe Blog Series. Plus a Peanut Butter Giveaway

This is sponsored content from Peanut Butter & Co.

Smooth Operator Peanut Butter

For those who don’t follow me on Twitter, you may not know it, but I’ve been in Hawaii for the past few weeks. Since my partner AJ happens to be a college professor and I’ve been freelancing ever since I quit my job, we have a flexible summer and we decided to rent a condo over in Maui for the month of July. This, of course, was made possible by my parents deciding they wanted to come out and visit San Francisco (as they are thinking of retiring there, they love it so much) and sublet our apartment for the duration of our trip away. I was a bit stressed out about getting our apartment in order for them, and also making sure they had everything they needed for their visit. But my mom and dad came out to our apartment and called me within the first week and told me they loved my place (exclaiming how surprised and impressed she was at my organization skills). Then my mom sheepishly told me that she had eaten a lot of the peanut butter I had in our fridge and she hoped that was okay. I laughed and told her of COURSE, but then she wanted to know all about the peanut butter that I had and why I had so many jars of it. I told her that I was chosen by the company Peanut Butter & Co. to develop recipes for their All Star Recipe Blog Series. She seemed less impressed by my developing recipes for them and more impressed by the peanut butter itself. It’s no wonder though, as the peanut butter is pretty awesome.

Crunch Time Peanut Butter

Back when Peanut Butter & Co. contacted me about developing five recipes for them as part of their All Star Recipe Blog series, I was super excited about being grouped in with other cool bloggers like Cakespy, Honey and Jam, and No Recipes. All bloggers that I totally respect and who totally rock. But then I had to come up with recipes for the company and that’s when I went into a slight panic. What if they didn’t like my recipes? What if they think my recipe ideas are crap? So I took a look at their various different flavored peanut butters, of which they have 10 different types, and brainstormed up 15 different ideas. Shot them over via email, and just crossed my finger that they liked what I sent them.

They did. In fact, they came back and told me that even though they initially wanted me to make five recipes, they liked my ideas so much that they asked if I could do 12 of them! Whoo hoo! 12 awesome recipes for an awesome company. How could I refuse? And so I’ve been developing them ever since. The first one, on their site today, is a Honey Lemon Bar with Peanut Butter Crust. It’s pretty addictive, and uses Peanut Butter & Co.’s Bee’s Knees Peanut Butter with honey mixed in.

And because I have a few jars leftover after the recipe developing, I’m going to give them away to a lucky reader! Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite peanut butter flavored item is. Perhaps it’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, peanut butter cookie, a Reese’s peanut butter cup or peanut butter on a celery stick with raisins on top. Or maybe it’s my recently posted Peanut Butter S’Mores with Strawberry Marshmallows and Bacon Peanut Brittle (which I used Peanut Butter & Co’s Smooth Operator). Whatever it is, leave me a comment and I’ll randomly choose a winner, to receive a jar of Peanut Butter & Co’s Smooth Operator (smooth peanut butter), Crunch Time (crunchy peanut butter), The Bee’s Knees (peanut butter with honey), and White Chocolate Wonderful (peanut butter with white chocolate). Four different jars of peanut butter for you! Be sure to leave your email address in the email address box so I can contact you if you win. You have until August 1st to enter. Hopefully my mom won’t have eaten all the jars of peanut butter by then.

[This is a sponsored post. I did receive compensation from Peanut Butter & Co. to develop recipes for their product, as well as samples of their peanut butter to create the recipes (and offer to you readers). However, all opinions are my own. For a full disclosure statement about my sponsored post policy, please visit my FAQ page]

We love CrunchTime peanut butter. We have a bakery nearby that bakes fresh bagels every day. A toasted pumpernickel bagel spread with Crunch Time peanut butter is heavenly. The peanut butter melts and when you bite into the warm bagel you get a good crunch from the peanuts and toasted bagel. Just divine!!

I believe peanut butter cream pie was created to transport jaded adults back into a childlike state of innocence. It does this almost (and sometimes moreso) effectively than YouTube videos of kittens rolling around like balls of fur. I bet peanut butter cream pie would also be delicious with some white chocolate-infused PB.

Congrats on getting to create twelve recipes! That’s so exciting.

I don’t think it’s possible for me to pick a “favorite” item using peanut butter. I love it with pretty much everything! I will say that toward the top of my list are using it in a spicy peanut sauce for a Thai Chicken Salad, and smearing homemade marshmallows with PB then dunking them in chocolate! 🙂

Honestly, I love peanut butter all by its lonesome little self… I could eat a whole jar. But, my favorite thing to make with peanut butter in it is peanut butter cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and carmelized bananas on top… or even with just chocolate chips on top.

When I was younger, sis and I would mix peanut butter, honey, chocolate syrup and rolled oats. We’d spread it on toast, crackers, celery, carrots, a spoon…whatever vehicle was closest. It is still a go-to treat when I need a rich & gooey fix. Though, I have to admit, I still have a soft spot for the peanut butter and honey on plain white sandwich bread that was a school cafeteria staple on spaghetti day.

My favorite peanut butter item is from my grade school years. At school, once a week, there was a dessert called “Peanut Butter Cream.” It was a no-bake bar with a peanut butter base (I’m guessing powdered sugar and peanut butter) and chocolate ganache on top. To my ten-year-old palate, they were the greatest thing to ever be made ever. I think they stick with me because I’ve never quite been able to recreate the recipe when nostalgia strikes. Alas. One day!
