If you have leftover parchment paper scraps, don’t throw them away, use them to help frost a cake neatly!
Last week I should an awesome kitchen tip on how to cut out a parchment round for cake pans. But I also told you not to discard the remaining parchment paper after you’ve cut out the round because you can use it! Here’s what I do with the leftover paper, I use it to line the bottom of the cake on the cake stand/platter so when I frost the cake, I don’t get frosting on the cake stand/platter!
It’s super easy. Just cut the remaining paper into 3 or 4 sections. Then place the pieces of paper on the cake stand or platter, so the curved side is facing in. Overlap the paper so the “hole” is smaller than the size of the cake itself.
Place the cake on top of the paper so the edges are tucked under the edges of the cake. Then frost the cake! Once you’re done frosting, just slide the paper out from under the cake and you’re good to go!
Easy right? Go make a cake now!
