Really cute, all the way around. We love having days with our grand nieces. They are a bit older than your nieces. They refer to us mostly in the collective as “the uncles.”

When theyre older, don’t miss bringing them over here to Oakland to Children’s Fairyland. It’s not expensive and a great way to spend a few hours.

These are so simply delightful!! I mean, anything in an ice cream cone rocks.

Irvin, talk about cuteness overload! It’s like you crammed rainbows, puppies, bunnies and Care Bears into a cannon and shot me in the face. I can’t decide what’s more adorable: the cupcake cones, your nieces or you carrying the baby. The look on Sydney’s face when she tried the cherry is priceless! Looks like you gave your niece the perfect day.

That picture on the swing kills me! And the whole baby-strapped look works on you, Irvin! Very cute. Love these cupcakes. A forever love of maraschino cherries is my secret shame.

Ahhh, best uncle ever. When my nieces and nephews come over I just dump all the snacks I have in a bowl, drop it in the middle of the living room, then run before the land sharks swarm.

I absolutely adore this! I’m not a cupcake freak, either, but this fabulous, Irvin! And you look pretty darned comfortable wearing that baby, too. ;)

Wow, a whole day of babysitting two (2) nieces–one a baby, no less–and you wore an Ergo! Cara passed us one we haven’t been able to figure out how to use. (I know, I know; I’m sure it’s easy. We will Google.)

I am SO happy you had reservations about that maraschino cherry (nasty), then caved cuz you thought she wanted it (so kind and giving on your part!), and then she rejected it (so smart! yay for her!)! A difficult dilemma, happily resolved. :D

That picture of her blurred out behind the cone ROCKS. As does the one of her rejecting the fake cherry, of course. :D :D

Lol She is so lucky to have you as an uncle…..you always have so much yummy goodness around. I bet you are her fav uncle. If you ever have kids or your own, I can imagine how much you will be making them (and their little friends) drool with excitement each time you bake something. But of course, you probably wouldn’t risk them getting diabetes and let them go crazy with indulging in all your baked yumminess, maybe in moderation.

The expression on her face is so funny. It looks like she’s disgusted by that cherry lol.

You have done the impossible, inspired me to make cupcakes. As for the cherries, I detested them until I discovered Manhattans.

Love this post, Irvin! Kids will always tell you like it is. Love Sydney’s reaction to the maraschino cherry. And, my favorite photo is of her on the swing! Oh joy, rapture! Beautiful capture of a special childhood moment. Bravo. xo
