Genius. I’ve just been talking about catching up on Arrested Development, and this pushes me over the edge. I know what I’ll be watching this evening! And I’m not a great banana lover (gasp!), but I bet this would be great with strawberries too.

More please, may I please have some more. Wordless recipes that is. These are classic and much more fun than the long-winded variety. Still no sign of the AD CD’s BTW.

Irvin May 23, 2013 at 7:30 pm

Wait, so are you calling my recipes long-winded?!? (just kidding, I know they are). I WOULD do more wordless recipes, but they are definitely a labor of love…. They are REALLY time consuming to create.

You SHOULD be compensated for this so amazing, brilliant, creative, STEVE HOLT! super post. Love the little AR clues throughout and that’s a mighty tasty looking banana, I might say.

You guys really hit it out of the park with this one. The increasing blue paint on the microwave was brilliant. LOVE this.

Reply

Irvin May 23, 2013 at 7:35 pm

Why thank you! It’s funny, I actually wasn’t sure how to add an Arrested Development joke on those microwave photos so I shot them without the blue. Then I all of sudden thought of it, so I had to reshoot! So glad I did because it definitely makes me giggle every time I see the progression of the shots…

Anne Foster Coleman May 23, 2013 at 7:34 am

Just realized what I MUST make on Sunday – frozen bananas. Anything else would be a huge mistake. Sunday is going to be off-the-hook!

Reply

Irvin May 23, 2013 at 7:36 pm

Thanks! Yes, I expect people across the country will be making frozen bananas! As you said, it would be a huge mistake if they didn’t… ;)

I so got each and everyone one of these pictures and this post is hilarious. I’m going to show my whole family because we are addicted to Arrested Development. Hey did you know that Buster moved to the kitchen? That is still one of the funniest lines to me. Each photo in here is classic, I mean Buster’s hand holding the frozen banana, the blue paint all over the microwave, the frozen food in the freezer meant for the hot tub. You guys got it all down. Love it! I also love the photo of you both at the end posing as the blue men! Thanks for bringing a smile and few laughs to my Friday morning. This was the perfect way to start a Friday! xoxo, Jackie

Banana sales are going UP this weekend! Irvin- I was laughing hysterically. The blue paint on the microwave- I die.

I’m afraid I just blue myself on what was supposed to be a dry run and now I have a bit of a mess on my hands!

Reply

Kimberly May 24, 2013 at 10:41 am

Absolutely Awesome! Will definitely need to make these. Not only for the new season of AD, but this is a great summer dessert!

Reply

Katie May 24, 2013 at 12:45 pm

This post is so perfectly and ingeniously executed, down to every last detail. Amazing. And those bananas look tasty! I like the addition of the pistachios. :)

Well done! And how apropos . . . just discovered your wonderful blog while looking for an awesome strawberry shortcake recipe, in between season 4 episodes of AD (I’m multitasking). I’ll be preparing the Suzanne-inspired Strawberry-Lemon Shortcake for a gathering tomorrow, binging on berries and Bluths for the remainder of the day.

Hahaha, what a great ode to the late Banana Stand (and the whole series). :)

Reply

Samantha June 12, 2013 at 6:07 pm

The details you put into this made it perfect. The blue on the microwave, the hook, the burned money, the shorts and the business cards… Amazing. Especially the analrapist card (that is my favorite thing Tobias has ever done, maybe…) I’m kind of sad to say I haven’t finished the 4th season yet. The first four episodes were sort of slow and boring for me. Did it get better? I would love the hear your thoughts on it!

I LOVE THIS! It actually feels like watching a silent film or somethin. Anyway i would like to know how long you can have em out? do they melt later on or do you need to keep them cool all the time? Im working on a Portable Food Recipe story and would really like to include this in it.
