Photo Friday: Pacari Chocolate, Top Shelf Whiskey & Photobooth

This past Wednesday, I was invited to a sneak peak preview of a private tasting event that is happening in conjunction with the upcoming Fancy Food Show here in San Francisco. This coming Monday, January 16th, Pacari Chocolate is having a tasting that is open to the public. The $20 ticket includes tastings of a variety of single origin, blends and flavored chocolates (the lemongrass was my favorite) by Pacari Chocolate, an Ecuadorean chocolate company. Meet the chocolatier himself, Santiago Peralta and drink top shelf whiskeys specially picked to pair magically with the chocolates. On top of that you’ll get a personal polaroid from Photobooth – or have a credit toward a Tintype (go for the tintype – its amazing, see the bottom picture for examples of what I mean). Below are shots from the sneak peak preview evening. And if you happen to be going to the Fancy Food Show this year, by all means, ping me on Twitter when you’re there, and maybe we can meet up and compare notes!

Love your site! I wish I was going to the fancy food show, that sounds so fun.

I’ll be in San Francisco (for the first time!) in April. Any suggestions on where to go, more importantly, where to eat??

    Happy Friday
    : ))

Oh my goss I haven’t seen anyone using a 4×5 camera in years! I had one but I sold it when I left uni and realized that being a photo major wasn’t the best fit for me. Now I’m going to feel all nostalgic for the rest of the day.

I have all of those whiskeys sitting in my liquor closet right now. I think you may need to change your picture on the blog to the one you took at the event. You look like you’re on the run from the law.

You look so gangster (or is it gangsta?) in your tintype. The Fancy Food Show sounds like heaven. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

I’m loving the look! You look like a badass chocolate outlaw. All you need is a stamp that says SALTY instead of WANTED.

Love the tintypes, especially the one of you which is almost…sinister. Have fun at the FF Show. I’m not able to make it this year but I have put in many miles over the years at the extravaganza. Will be looking forward to hearing about your favorite things. (Now don’t forget: pace yourself!)

"Mr. Lin, a graphic designer in San Francisco who writes the food blog Eat the Love, takes risks in nearly every one of the 150 elaborate recipes in his book. He doesn’t just paint the lily; he bejewels and shellacs it, too."
–MELISSA CLARK for the New York Times

“My goodness, this cookbook! It’s filled to the brim with recipes for the most splendidly beautiful cakes, cookies, breads, and tarts I think I’ve ever seen. My eyes kept getting wider and wider as I turned every page—both the flavor combinations and the photos are out of this world. Irvin Lin has most definitely outdone himself. This book is a triumph!”
—REE DRUMMOND, New York Times best-selling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks

“Irvin Lin gives home-baked treats a twist, ramping them up with a range of contemporary flavors that are sure to surprise and delight. From beer-battered brownies to smoky butterscotch taking a classic cake to the next level, I can’t wait to mix, stir, and bake my way through Marbled, Swirled, and Layered!”
