Today I fly off to Atlanta to present a session on Branding and Design for Food Bloggers at BlogHer Food. My partner-in-crime Sabrina of The Tomato Tart will be there as well, holding my hand and kicking me under the table to make sure that I’m not making a fool of myself. I just hope I don’t get too many bruises.

BlogHer Food is a conference for food bloggers, to learn more about food blogging. And though people have told me that they have fear and misgiving about going to food blogging conferences, the last BlogHer Food was a blast for me. You can read my super caffeinated epic post about my first experience, when I was wide eyed newbie experiencing a conference full of food bloggers I have only read online.

This year, I will not only attending the conference as well as presenting a session on Branding and Design, but I’ll also be moderating a session for bring your blog to mobile devices, whether it’s the iPhone, Palm Pre, Android, other smart phones or the iPad*. I look forward to being the voice of the individual food blogger, in a panel full of big media companies like Kelly Senyei from Gourmet Live, Tanya Steel from Epicurious, and Mark Levine from Though my blog isn’t accessed all that much from mobile devices, I know it’s a growing segments of readers, and I can only imagine their experience can help me tap into that rich potential.

As for Sabrina and myself, we’ve been working hard on trying to create a presentation that will not only teach bloggers about branding and design, but will give bloggers a vocabulary and tools on how to take their blog to the next level. We’ll go over the steps on how to define your brand, how to develop a color palette, how to develop a logo, and how to build a useable aesthetically pleasing website. We eventually plan on putting the presentation onto our respective websites, so if you didn’t make it to BlogHer Food this year, you’ll be able to get ahold of the information.

Our presentation is on Friday, May 19th, at 10am EST (Eastern Standard Time). We’re asking everyone who is live tweeting the presentation to use the hashtag #BHFDesign. Please feel free to tweet along if you’re in the audience, or follow along if you aren’t.

Please tweet #BHFDesign

And if you ARE at BlogHer Food, please come up and say hi. Can’t wait to meet you!

*If you have an iPad, check out my site on it, and let me know what you think of my new iPad enabled theme. I’ve been testing it out, and I think it’s pretty nifty. You can even download and put a little icon of Eat the Love onto your iPad desktop like an app. Fun huh?

Have fun! I’ve always wanted to go but have never found the time to sneak away from my day job so I’ll have to live vicariously through everyone’s recaps. I’m sure you’ll be fab!

Irvin, it was an absolute pleasure meeting (and having dinner with) you in Atlanta. I am sorry I did not get to your session but I loved reading the tweets out of it and I know many people said it was really great – well done!

I just have to say I really enjoyed following your tweets during BlogHer Food! Although it was a bit painful not being able to participate, I decided to add it to my 2012 “conference list”. BTW – great blog, very fun to follow!
